To operate the Icom 7300 with VOX using RemoteTx, the audio must be routed through an additional USB sound card dongle attached to the Raspberry Pi rather than the built in USB sound interface of the radio. This is because the radio’s VOX functionality only triggers on MIC input signals and not the built in USB sound interface of the radio. The USB sound card must be plugged in to the Mic plug with an adapter and the phones jack of the radio. See below for example setup and initial settings. Adjust settings to individual preference and varying audio devices.
